McDonald’s Scores a Marketing Coup during Bangkok Cleanup

Those who do good, will receive good in return.

In the peace following the Bangkok Unrest, Bangkok has been hard at work cleaning up and repairing the damage following the violence and arson attacks at its climax.

In the middle of the city where the clean up is happening, restaurants and department stores continue to be closed, save for one McDonald’s at Amarin Plaza. They have not only opened shop, but are giving out free food such as hamburgers, McNuggets and soft drinks to everyone involved in the massive undertaking.

While they are genuinely trying to do their part in helping Bangkok regain its title as the City of Angels, it has also generated a tremendous amount of goodwill and free marketing, through TV news reports of their actions throughout the Kingdom.

They may have spent quite a bit of money for this bit of generosity, but the amount of goodwill they receive in return cannot even begin to be measured in monetary terms.

A marketing coup for McThai.
