The weather has simply been crazy in Bangkok recently, with temperatures hitting historical lows of 18 degrees.

April is supposed to be the hottest month of the year in Thailand, which is why the Songkran festival, where the entire Kingdom becomes a giant water fight, is in the middle of it. This year though its simply been crazy, as the hot and rainy weather seems to be on periodic hiatus, switching from hot to freezing within the space of one week.
We've been getting cold spells, where 3-5 days of the week windows from Siberia and China blown down the chill the city to the bone. Although I love cold weather, I have never seen Bangkok hit anything below 20 degrees before.
I wonder if this year we'll be seeing a cold Songkran for the first time in modern history? It's certainly not going to be fun splashing water when it's freezing. I just know that it's really going to take a sap on our productivity as more and more people call in ill. The human body simply isn't designed to take such rapid changes in temperature.
The scary thing is that if the hot weather doesn't seem to want to work full-time, where is it going? How is it affecting other places? Is global warming is starting to really take a toll, or perhaps its just that the events in the movie 2012 is closing in on us?
