Google has finally gotten on board with mobile blogging on the iPhone and iOS.
Google finally released a Blogger app for the iPhone earlier on today. Coming several months after the release of the Blogger app on Android and of the WordPress app, it will finally allow those on iOS to participate in mobile blogging.
The actual editor is HTML based, which means no rich text editing here. Posts that were written using the desktop editor are quite difficult to modify further, considering all the HTML displayed in the small iPhone window. For simple writing, it should more than do the trick.
Blogger has factored photo management into the app, and allows the uploading of photos straight from the iPhone. It also has the option to resize the photos, or for you to upload the photo in full 5-megapixel glory. Combined with location services, it's quite the perfect option for bloggers on the road talking about their trip around the world, or for food reviewers who want to get their reviews out as soon as possible.
Because of the HTML editor, it's still not possible to easily place the photos in a pleasing layout. The app simply uploads all the photos and puts it after your post. It's not elegant, but it's certainly a start.
The Blogger app is now available for download from app stores worldwide.

While photos and location services are supported, the editor is still HTML based, making aligning media quite difficult. |
