Happy New Year!
By Karn G. Bulsuk
Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said that "Nothing endures, but change". With the central pillar of these articles dealing with change, it is probably the most appropriate way to bring on the New Year with a thought on what changes transpired in 2012, and what we will see coming to fruition in 2013.
Kaizen will continue to remain a recurring topic, along with further articles on management best practices and the ever present theme of IT security - a looming, but often little understood part of business in today's interconnected world. We will also be diversifying into non-business areas with photography playing a large role in putting the arts on these pages as well.
While a global perspective has continually been an important part of the articles in this blog, we will continue to focus on Asia given its continued importance to the global economy, and the challenges and experiences of doing business with the tiger economies.
On a lighter note, as a treat this year I welcomed in the New Year with fireworks literally 50 meters from my home in the sky. It was truly a spectacular display and experience, and was the first time I was this close to professional fireworks. The photo above for example, was surprisingly easy to capture.
Thank you for continuing to read my articles, and I wish you an amazing 2013 in the year ahead!
