This Privacy Policy describes how Karn Bulsuk (the "Owner") handles personal information in connection with the operation of bulsuk.com (the "Website"). It should be read alongside the Terms and Conditions of Use.
The Owner operates the Website as an individual and is generally not an "APP entity" under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Notwithstanding this, the Owner endeavours to handle personal information broadly in line with the principles underlying the Australian Privacy Principles ("APPs"). 1. About the Website
The Website is a personal website operated by an individual. It is hosted on Blogger and uses a number of third-party services to provide hosting, analytics, advertising, contact functionality, and affiliate marketing.
Most data collection on the Website occurs through these third-party services. The Owner does not operate the Website's underlying infrastructure and does not itself collect or store the technical and analytics data generated by visits to the Website, which is collected and held by the third-party services described in Clause 2.
This Privacy Policy explains:
- Which third-party services are used and where to find their privacy policies;
- What information the Owner directly handles;
- The User's rights in respect of that information.
The third-party services described in Clause 2 collect and handle personal information independently, under their own privacy policies and their own responsibility. The Owner is responsible only for the information described in Clause 3.
The Website is operated from Australia and is intended for a general international audience. It is not targeted at, and does not offer goods or services to, residents of any particular jurisdiction. Voluntary payments described in the Terms and Conditions of Use confer no entitlement to any goods, services, or Content, and are not offers of sale.
2. Third-Party Services
The principal third-party services used by the Website are set out below. This list is indicative and not exhaustive, and the services used may change from time to time. Each service operates under its own privacy policy, which governs the collection and use of any information processed by that service.

The User is encouraged to review these policies. Where information is collected by a third-party service, that information is handled in accordance with the relevant third-party policy, not this Privacy Policy.
3. Information the Owner Directly Handles
The Owner directly handles personal information only in the following limited circumstances.
3.1 Contact form submissions. The Website's contact form is provided through Google Forms. When the User submits the contact form, the information provided by the User (typically name, email address, and message content) is recorded in a response record held in Google Sheets and is also notified to the Owner by email. The Owner uses this information to respond to the enquiry and to maintain a record of correspondence. Submissions are not added to any mailing list, are not shared with third parties, and are not used for marketing purposes. Submissions and related correspondence are retained for as long as the Owner considers appropriate. Google's handling of information submitted through Google Forms and stored in Google Sheets is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
3.2 Affiliate marketing. Where the Website contains affiliate links, the Owner may receive commission reports from affiliate networks. These reports are aggregated and are not ordinarily capable of identifying individual Users. The affiliate network itself may set tracking cookies on the User's device when the User clicks an affiliate link, and the handling of those cookies is governed by the affiliate network's privacy policy.
3.3 Voluntary payments. Where the User makes a voluntary payment through Ko-fi, the Owner may receive information from Ko-fi indicating the User's name (or chosen display name) and the amount paid. The Owner does not receive or store payment card details. The handling of payment data by Ko-fi is governed by Ko-fi's privacy policy.
3.4 Security. The Owner takes steps that are reasonable in the circumstances of a personal website operated by an individual to protect personal information directly handled by the Owner from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and the Owner does not warrant that information will be secure in all circumstances. The security of information held by the third-party services described in Clause 2 is a matter for those services.
The Owner does not sell personal information, and does not disclose personal information directly held by the Owner to any third party except as described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. The Owner does not currently operate a mailing list or newsletter. Should the Owner do so in future, subscription would be voluntary and this Privacy Policy would be updated accordingly.
4. Cookies
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies through the third-party services described in Clause 2. The Owner does not ordinarily set cookies independently of those services.
The User may control or disable cookies through their browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect Website functionality. Where required, consent for the use of non-essential cookies for advertising purposes is managed through the consent mechanism presented by the applicable advertising service. The third-party services used by the Website are operated from outside Australia, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions. Information processed by those services may be transferred to and stored in jurisdictions other than Australia.
The User should be aware that overseas recipients may not be subject to privacy laws equivalent to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The Owner uses reputable service providers but does not have direct control over their storage or processing arrangements.
6. Access, Correction, and Complaints
6.1 Access and correction. The User may request access to or correction of any personal information directly held by the Owner (as described in Clause 3) by contacting the Owner. The Owner will respond within a reasonable period.
For information held by the third-party services described in Clause 2, the User should contact those services directly. Each service provides its own access and correction mechanisms in its privacy policy.
6.2 Complaints. If the User believes the Owner has breached this Privacy Policy, the User may lodge a complaint by contacting the Owner. The Owner will consider the complaint and respond within a reasonable period. If the User is not satisfied with the response, the User may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
7. International Users
This Privacy Policy is prepared in accordance with Australian law. Users accessing the Website from outside Australia may have additional rights under their local privacy laws. Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any non-waivable right the User may have under applicable local law.
8. Amendments
The Owner reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is the version published on this page, and material changes will be indicated by an updated date at the top of this page. The User is encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
