A while after I finished writing the article about KPS Video Express on Wikipedia, I started my quest to find the logo. Having gone bankrupt in 1997, its website (http://www.kps.com.hk) had long gone and even the Wayback Machine had but a shell of the site.

A while after I finished writing the article about KPS Video Express on Wikipedia, I started my quest to find the logo. Having gone bankrupt in 1997, its website (http://www.kps.com.hk) had long gone and even the Wayback Machine had but a shell of the site.
Despite all the information in research databases, I had not been able to locate the KPS logo. I had even gone through all my old documents when in Hong Kong, and although I found two old KPS receipts, the logo was rather small and did not provide its colour scheme.
Surprisingly enough, Google Books came to the rescue. It happened to have several magazines scanned in which KPS had advertised in, and in one of them was a large version of the logo in its full glory.
I manually digitized it using Inkscape to convert it into a vector format, meaning that it could be made as large as possible without loss of quality, made it freely available on Wikimedia Commons and added it to the Wikipedia article. It also meant that my Wikipedia article on KPS would be complete with the former company’s logo on top.
The original version available from my blog contains the yellow background that would sometimes accompany the logo. For design reasons, the version uploaded onto Wikimedia Commons omits the background.
