Elim Elytra wireless low‑profile split keyboard offers hot‑swap switches, travel‑ready design, and strong ergonomics
They're planning to offer two colours (black or white), using mechanical switches. By default it comes with either linear or silent switches, but I have confirmed that they are hot swappable, and are compatible with 3-leg Kailh Choc V2 compatible switches. The guys at Elim have confirmed that the 4-leg variants also work, but it may involve cutting off one leg for the switches located near the USB C port. I'll give their linear switches a go, but may switch to something more tactile later.
The weight of 420g (0.9 lbs) is quite reasonable, and is close to the Keychron K11 Max which I currently use for travel. From a connectivity perspective, it can be used fully wireless via Bluetooth, which is great for a quick set up, or via USB C.
I suspect one of the ways they're keeping it light despite using machined aluminium is the fact they've practically left the back open with a patterned, but open covering, exposing the circuit board. I'm not sure how I feel about this, as usually I like to keep the electronics hidden to keep it protected from any accidents. We'll need to see how this goes when we get a unit in for extended use.
At this stage, it's key competitor is the upcoming "NocFree &" keyboard, which is due to arrive around January 2026. The NocFree is also a split wireless keyboard, but it possesses a function row, and is considerably heavier, coming in at around 1 kg (2.2 lbs). Functionally, it appears similar, and we will do a compare-and-contrast to see which one comes up on top.
